Currently underway at The Preservation Studio - La Junta City Park Wall Restoration
Congratulations to the City of La Junta! With the grant writing assistance of The Preservation Studio, the City has been awarded a grant from the State Historical Fund to complete the restoration of their WPA walls in historic City Park.
The park occupies approximately four city blocks in downtown La Junta, the perimeter of which is lined by roughly 6,000 linear feet of distinctive low stone walls. The interior drives are also lined with the stone walls which are constructed of locally quarried tan and buff colored sandstone slabs with a unique beaded grapevine mortar joint.
